Hello! That is an exceptionally nice looking Dress Bayonet for a German Mauser K98k.

It appears to have the bone handle, which makes it a much preferred specimen over the rubber handled versions. The lack of a frog for the scabbard is a minor hiccup which would detract slightly from the collector's value, but a relatively minor issue. As far as I can tell, it lacks any Nazi proof marks, which would be another selling point for a collector, so another slight decline in value.

My Standard Catalog of Military Firearms gives a pretty wide range in price for these as it doesn't break them down by subtype, so could be anywhere from 50 - 300, keeping in mind that especially with bayonets they underestimate the average price in my experience, which could mean it actually is a good deal higher. Given what I perceive to be the condition, and the fact it is a functional bayonet as opposed to a imitation knife, I would venture it is on the upper end of worth if you were to get it properly valued and sell it, but I can only give you a ballpark estimate there.

So... I'll give you five bucks for it :)
