What were the effects of the Union victory in Vicksburg on the war?

It split the confederacy in half, men and supply's from Texas couldn't reach the eastern front. Also this major strategic victory happened at the sametime as the major union victory at Gettysburg. Those victories gave Lincoln popularity a major boost that helped him be reelected in '64, if Lincoln lost that election, his opponent would have sued for peace with the south.
