How much of the stereotype of Asians as "slanty eyes" can be attributed to 70% of Asians needing glasses?

Recently occurred to me when i looked in the mirror this morning when i noticed that without my glasses i look like i plan to murder some-one's first born child. With them i look like a regular human being. I also recall that apparently 70% of Asians will need glasses or some other vision correcting method and was wondering if the stereotype could be attributed to an inherent genetic trait.

Unless it was a deliberate attempt at propaganda and highly focusing and emphasizing certain physical traits

What? Just... What?

First of all, how is this a historical question? Secondly, racism. Asians have slanty eyes compared to white people, so white people called them slanty eyes. It's not rocket science.
