What do you mean when you say participating in the Holocaust? This could cover a whole range of different roles and positions.
The experiences of someone who might have ended up working as a camp guard could be different from the life experiences of say, someone involved in the Reserve Police units in Poland in 1942, or from that of someone in the Einsatzgrueppen, or someone involved at a bureaucratic/administrative level.
Perhaps what you are actually asking is for something about the social and life experiences of Germans of that generation, because there might not necessarily be something that makes someone who was a perpetrator in the Holocaust that radically different from the general experiences of Germans of that age, or within their social group, or locality.
