At the time of the First World War was there any residual Civil War sentiment among soldiers who now had to fight towards a common goal?

Do you mean soldiers who previously fought in the Civil War working together in WWI might've resented each other? I hope not, because the number of soldiers who fought in both wars (if any) is very small.

Otherwise, perhaps someone else can answer, but I've seen nothing to suggest it, really. It wasn't the first conflict they were going to fight in together, they'd already fought in the Spanish-American War in 1898, among other conflicts.
