What kind of names did people living in Al-Andalus have? Latin ones, Arab, Berber...?

Also as related question what happened to the names of the people living in Granada after it was conquered?

And another question from the time period: I've been told and read somewhere myself that when the Arabs crossed the Gibraltar Strait they were readily received by the native population, is it true?

Regarding your second question: yes, at least partially. Obviously the Visigothic king Roderic did not welcome the Muslims (Arabs isn't accurate, most of the soldiers were Berbers), but because of the generous terms offered to cities that accepted Muslim rule, many opened their doors without a fight. The entire invading army was only a few thousand strong. There would have been no way that such a small invading force could conquer the entire Iberian Peninsula so quickly if there was native resistance.
