How exactly was the Norwegian heavy water sabotage executed?

I can only answer to a little bit of the question.

The British attempted a raid against the Norsk Hydro plant using commandos that were to be delivered by gliders.

On the night of 19/20 November 1942, two Horsa gliders carrying a commando force and towed by a pair of Handley-Paige Halifaxes from 100 (special duties) group took off to perform the raid. One of the Halifaxes returned. The other Halifax and both gliders crashed into mountains in Norway. Survivors of the crashes were poisoned by doctors under Hitler's "commando orders."

I believe, but I am not sure that there was a ground-based attack on the heavy water plant itself, which may have later been made into a movie.

I also believe that there was a shipment of heavy water that was put on a ferry which was sabotaged.

However, my knowledge of this outside of the air operation is limited, so I will leave that to wiser people.
