Best plane of WWII?

The introduction of planes gave a whole new dynamic to the war. Which country dominated air superiority throughout the second World War?

It's too simplistic to say that there is a "best" plane of the war. Different aircraft were, and are, good at different things.

No air force "dominated" air superiority throughout the war. Early in the war, the Germans had control of the skies on the Western Front and in the East. Later on, the Americans and the USSR had air superiority as the Luftwaffe essentially disappeared, but that's because of many different factors, not necessarily the qualities of their aircraft.

If you'd like to ask a more applicable, or specific question, like "Which was the best escort fighter of the war," or even "which aircraft had the biggest impact on the war," I'd be happy to help. But your question doesn't have an answer.
