Well I think what you have to consider is that the first Asian immigrants arrived in America long after slave trade was abolished. Slave trade was abolished in America in 1807 by the Slave trade act. The first Asian immigrants, the Chinese, arrived in California during the height of the gold rush in the 1850's, contributing to gold mine and railroad labor. Thus, there weren't any Asian Americans during the years of American slave trade. The Chinese would have seen close to no slaves, due to the fact that California was a free state by the Compromise of 1850
