How did the American government gather enough public support to engage in the Korean war so soon after WW2?

- The fear of Communism was very much real "The Red Scare"
- North Korea was the initial aggressor, and after WWII Americans were seen as the ultimate liberators
- The Japanese defeated the Koreans with ease and the Americans defeated the Japanese, so why wouldn't the Americans defeat the Koreans
- All the kids who were teenagers in WWII were now old enough to get "their own piece of the action" when they were just too young for WWII
- The US had the Atomic Bomb, which was seen as a basically God-like power (to be honest it pretty much was at that time period)
- Coming off of back to back world war victories, wouldn't you feel pretty confident about your odds against a relatively untrained upstart like NK?
