Are there any examples of non-violent major shifts in government/revolutions?

The examples of major changes in types of government (monarchy to republic, etc.) that I can think of always tend to involve bloody conflict (as may be the nature of the human condition).

Are there many (any) examples, beyond passing the torch to a child or something similar, where a government saw a major shift without conflict - i.e. a peaceful transition?

Hopefully that was clear, I've just been thinking about this for a couple days and am pretty bad with history, unfortunately.

The fall of communism is the eastern bloc (USSR + satellites like Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, East Germany, etc) is the first example that comes to mind, although Romania was an exception. The "People's Power" revolution against Marcos in the Philippines also comes to mind. The Spanish transition from Franco-style nationalism/absolute monarchism/clericalism to constitutional monarchy is another example. The Weimar Republic's transition from democracy to Nazi dictatorship was also largely peaceful, although the Nazis were not, of course, peaceful once they were in power.

The 1974 Carnation Revolution in Portugal, led mostly by leftist opposition elements in the Portuguese military, overthrew the corporatist/ neo-fascist dictatorship. Injuries were minimal and I believe no deaths occurred.
