Books on Alexander the Great [There's more]

by Romulus_963

I am about to finish up the incredible Dividing the Spoils by Waterfield and I'm thinking for my next book I want something on Alexander's life/campaigns themselves, but I am looking for something with a heavy, if not heavier, look at his diadochi. Something that includes info on not just Alexander but also delves into the lives of Ptolemy, Perdiccas, Antigonus, Seleucus and so on. What do you think my best option is?

I suggest taking a look at the book list. Holt's book covers Bactria, Shipley's covers the Mediterranean.

If you are interested in looking more into those who surrounded Alexander, you must read "Ghost on the Throne". It is a fantastic read about the terrors and great exploits created by the power vacuum of Alexanders death. Its a chilling read, and a great peek into one of the most strange, beautiful, and terrifying eras of human history.
