I'm no historian, but people that win wars and conquer lands, write history. I mean even the history of the finding of the Americas. Most people seldom discuss the wiping out of most Native American tribes but remember the pilgrims as honest people trying to escape persecution. I think the same can be said for 100's or 1000's of years before that.
