Did Roman trade with India continue through overland routes after the Arab conquest of the ports surrounding the Red Sea? If so, why did Rome not ally with India against growing Islamic influence in the region?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Most people, when they refer to Rome, mean the western Roman empire, which fell in 476 CE - roughly 150 years before the emergence of Islam. Do you mean the eastern Roman (Byzantine) empire?
