I'm looking for information on the European nobility during WW1. A book suggestion would be great. Basicly, I'd like to now what were the caracteristics traits of nobility at that time, how they were dressed, how they acted, the values they shared. Also, how was the October Revolution lived by the Nobles who were in Russia, and fled the country, and those in other European countries. My main focus is Russia and France. As France is not a monarchy by that time, any insight of how did the nobles lived in a Republic and though of the multiplication of Republics at the expense of monarchies would be great too.
Can you clarify what you mean by nobility?
Do you mean aristocrats or royalty or both?
Check out the book 1914-1918 by David Stevenson. The book covers a broad scope of WWI, but in detail. Each chapter is dedicated to specific topic of the war, including the home fronts of each nation, it's economies, politics, ruling elite and of course the war itself.
If you're curious on about the ruling elite in that time period I'd suggest this book. Of course on some of the figures details are limited so there may not be as much information as you like, but it is substantial nonetheless.
This book covers exactly what you're looking for. The author goes into detail about the October Revolution for example, how it played out, why it did the way it did. All the events leading up to it, all the political parties involved, the actions of Czar and the events after the fact. Again, same with the leading figures of the other countries, Germany, Italy, Britain, France the US, etc.
I think the comment was deleted, but someone had posted a fictional book that was related to the question. Can anyone tell me what it was?
