Serbs, Croats, Slovenes, Bosniaks, Albanians, montenegrins, macedonians. Romas and turks were also very common at the time.
By and large, the six Socialist Republics of Yugoslavia were divided along ethnic lines. Serbia was primarily inhabited by Serbs, Croatia was primarily inhabited by Croats, and so on. That said, when war broke out in 1991, there was an enormous amount of forced emigration of various ethnicities.
