I just noticed a comment stating that modern Egyptians are not related to ancient ones. It stated that modern Egyptians are just Arabs only.
Just wondering if the story behind all of this.
The descendants of the ancient Egyptians are mostly the modern Egyptians.
Egypt has, however, traded with and been invaded by various other populations, so modern Egyptians are also somewhat descended from those peoples.
Egypt has always been at a crossroads between Europe Asia and Africa.
DNA analysis of modern Egyptians puts the average ancestry proportions of the Egyptian population at 19% Maghreb related, 37% Europe related, 30% Near East related, and 14% Sub-Saharan Africa related.

What these relationships would have been back in the days of ancient Egypt, and whether they have changed since then is difficult to determine, as it has proved extremely problematical so far to recover DNA samples from ancient Egyptian mummies.
In addition the coptic language still in use at least in as the liturgic language of the coptic church is the direct evolution of the ancient egyptian language.
