Marco Polo, in his famous book "il Milione", talks about a particular man named "Veglio della Montagna" (in english I think it's the Sage of the Mountain but, not being english, I don't know) who founded the group of the Hashshashin (assassins). Marco Polo says he used to drug young men making them loose consciousness and bringing them in his beautiful garden full of wonders and beautiful women. When the poor young boy awakened he thought he was in Paradise and the the Sage, misbelieved as God by the youngs, had just to tell them to kill in name of God going back on earth after having lost consciousness once again. I know it may sound confusing due to my lack of english (sorry for grammar mistakes) but it really isn't. Moreover he was also real man living in Persia and his name was Hassan-i.Sabbah and you can see his biografy at wikipedia (even if i know it's not the best for sure). Otherwise, if any of you is interested, I've wrote about him and about the Polo's travels in an article here which, unfortunatly, is in Italian (even if there is a translate option but whith google plus snd I know it's not the best). So, if you want me to trnslate anything, just ask! Hope I was helpful! Article:http://letterarteblog.blogspot.it/2014/05/collana-bordo-di-libro-ep-2-il-viaggio.html
