Georgia and Armenia have an alphabet of their own. Until the mid-1920s Kalmyk was written with the Mongolian alphabet and the muslim nations commonly used (Persian) Arabic. There the swap to Latin and to Cyrillic followed similar measures taken in Turkey and Mongolia.
