How closely related are Dravidians (people of south India) to other races?
The earliest modern human migration out of Africa is thought to have followed the coast of south Asia and eventually reaching Austrailia. Small, darkskinned people descended from this wave of migration inhabit the Andaman Islands of India and several other places in Asia source. They came along earlier than the Dravidians (who appear to be in the same, later wave that peopled Europe and most of Asia) and are distinct from them, though I'm not sure how much genetic contribution passed between the groups.
