My grandfather served in the Royal Canadian Navy from '39-'45. He was a commanding officer of a minor warship with the rank of lieutenant-commander. Let me know if there's any other information you need.
I'm an aspiring history major and I've been trying to gather as much information as possible about my grandfather's experience during the war, unfortunately he is no longer with us (he would have been ~100 this year) and no one in my family seems to know the full story. All he would really say about his experience is that it was a "lovely war". Thank you in advance for your help!
