I'm curious to see how the planes have changed since then, and would like to see what parts they had and what those parts were called. Images with labels or numbered indices would be awesome, but even things like flying jargon of the time (in any language) would be really cool, too.
I would think that something like Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War II might fulfill your needs. Jane's reputation for accuracy is well earned, and many libraries stock them. They're also often found at used bookstores that specialize in history books if you have one in your area.
