When was the last time France actually surrendered

It's hard to know what you mean by surrendered. Is one unit enough to be considered a 'surrender'? Do you mean militarily, politically, how? Militarily, the pullout from indochina could be seen as an implicit surrender. Otherwise, the best example of a total surrender of the French is in the Second World War, although even this is problematic due to the 'free French' under de Gaulle.
