How were queens and princesses treated by their kings?

I understand this is a broad question but I always hear girls saying that they wanna be treated like one. My guess is that kings were not the best gentleman to their queens and princesses.

It depends on the particular king, really. Some kings, like Stephen (of England), were said to be very sentimental, emotional, compassionate, and (by contemporary standards) weak. Other kings, like Henry VIII as the most obvious example, treated their wives very poorly indeed. As the woman had no real way to question her husband, and even physical abuse was seen as a husband's right, it would entirely depend on the character of the husband as to how he treated his wives/daughters.
