Either medieval and modern would be appreciated. I've always loved Orff's rendition and would love to know more about his composition or the medieval inspiration.
The pre-Orff era German public knew the Carmina Burana collection through some titles featured in the «Allgemeines Deutsch Commersbuch» which was (and still is) obligatory reading in all of the (traditional) student fraternities. Like every good hipster Carl picked some of the more obscure songs, not feature in the ADC and other popular collections, footing on a full edition printed back in 1847.
