WW1 Era US Signal Corps? (1918)

I was hoping someone may be able to provide more information in regards to a fascinating piece that I came across and purchased. It appears to be a photo from Camp Morse Signal Corps Training camp in Texas, however I can't seem to find anymore information about the image and was curious to some inconsistencies with the small amount of knowledge I have about this picture.

The Symbol on the flag is not a standard that I'm familiar with. The Diamonds appear the same color, and the lightning bolt symbol lacks that of fist or torch, and has five bolts instead of two or three. If anyone would happen to know more about this picture, I'd greatly appreciate the knowledge.

So the guidon in this photo seems to me to be consistent with other Signal Corps guidons from this era. Here's a good photo of one from 1913 that belonged to the 1st Aero Squadron. You can see it's clearly on the same model. The signal flags are the same colour, there's no torch in between them, and then there's a more specialized symbol at the bottom. In that particular case, it's the old Signal Corps Aviator Badge.

I believe your flag belongs to Company D, 419th Telegraph Battalion. I haven't seen that particular globe with five lightning bolts coming out of it before but it would certainly make sense in that context.
