Labotomies are pretty universally panned as inhume and horrible, but were there any patients who truly benefitted from them?
First of all, this is probably the wrong forum. I imagine neurobiologists, or even psychologists have better answers for you.
I can guide you to the case study of a 'subject' known as H.M. who had his hippocampus cut out. He lost the entirety of his memory, and ability to create new memories, but the lobotomy did cure his epileptic seizures.
Good luck discovering more.
