This sub focuses on history only, which for our purposes excludes any events/conditions from the last 20 years... so certainly not the current state of affairs in countries around the world. I'm not exactly sure where this question might belong... perhaps /r/SocialScience or /r/AskAnthropology? If one of the other moderators sees this, they may chip in with another suggestion.
