There are a lot of options out there, but it depends on where your interests are within history. If you are interested in researching and writing, you could go the route of academia. Be warned, however, that the job market is not the best in academia, and it is a very lengthy route. Additionally, there are jobs as museum curators and preservationists. For example, you could work to maintain existing artifacts, documents, etc. and work to educate the public about them. A closely related field to history is archaeology. As an archaeologist, you would also perform research to further our understanding of the past but from a different methodological approach when compared to a historian.
