I was wondering if there is a copy of the speech James Doolittle would have given his men before the raid, or if there was even one that was recorded. My google-fu wasn't up to standard and I was unable to find one. Thanks in advance.
Before the launch, Lt. Col. Doolittle and Captain Mitscher both gave short speaches to the crewmen of the Doolittle raiders. Admiral Halsey gave Doolittle a friendship medal he got from his visit to Japan, with the Great White Fleet. Doolittle promised to return it to Japan, with interest, as he tied it to one of the bombs on his plane.
