Coast of Slaves, Ships of Slaves and Islands of Slaves by Thorkild Hansen are a celebrated Danish trilogy concerning Danish-Norwegian slave trade.

The books are from the late 60's to early 70's, but the English translations are from the 2000's.

I've only read the original (almost certainly significantly dated) Danish versions, but the translator claims: "This English translation is edited to provide explantions about inaccessible references as well as established factual misrepresentations."
