I'm just after a quality book and I don't know where to look first. Thanks in advance!
Assuming you mean Middle Egyptian, Daniel Selden's Hieroglyphic Egyptian is a pretty effective text if you intend to self teach. This was the text used in my university course. There's also Gardiner's Egyptian Grammar, which is a bit dated and the grammar taught is not intuitively ordered. Selden's improves upon this, despite it's own problems (the comparative linguistic aspect of his pedagogy is overwrought) but the intention and will of the book is designed for the student to be able to translate "The Shipwrecked Sailor," a incredibly famous and nearly complete Middle Egyptian literary text. Hope this helps!
There's a book the British Museum Press put out, called How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphs. It's excellent. Not very expensive, completely accessible, and acts as a very good primer. The ilustrations and exercises are clear and I personally found the text explained everything well.
