While I realize that Game of Thrones is not set solely in the medieval era, I figure it's based heavily on the Wars of Roses which were in the 1450's. According to that time period, are the clothing pieces worn in Game of Thrones accurate or would the ladies be wearing this sort of headwear?.
For instance, Arya wears this for most of the 1st season.
Sansa wears this dress
Were these things really what people wore? When I look at images that people usually provide like this they look a lot heavier and more ornamental.
Sorry for asking another question about Game of Thrones, but I just found the "real-life" medieval portrayal interesting.
It's a fictional universe. That's like asking how accurate are the clothes in Lord of the Rings.
While there are some minor influences from the cotehardies of that time period, there is little familiarity except in some silhouettes. It's almost entirely fantasy.
