The open touring car style of body became increasingly less popular during the 1920s and became practically extinct by 1930. Since both photos do not provide a good look at the radiator grill, it is very difficult to identify the make, model or year of the car. Also, new car sales dropped like a rock during the early 1930s, so a family could still be driving a ten year old car in 1935. In the TV show "The Waltons" sheriff Ep Bridges was still driving a 1923 Chalmers open touring car as late as 1937, but in 1938 the fictional Jefferson County, Virginia finally bought him a new Ford police car.
These open touring cars had no roll-up glass windows. They did have snap on plastic windows for the passenger doors. The plastic was of low quality and tended to yellow with age. Also, people had an annoying tendency to leave these plastic windows in their garage. If it started to rain, they could get soaked, if they forgot to bring the snap on windows along with them.
