Are the D-Day beaches still called Utah, Omaha, etc?

by Sovereign_Curtis

Were the names given by the Allies adopted? Are the beaches known formally or informally as Utah, Omaha, etc? What were the pre-war names? Do those beaches have any other claim to fame? Are there any other cool facts about the beaches you can share?

My apologies if this is topic already covered.
I gave the search feature my best shot and came up dry.

They were never called that. Those were just designations used to identify specific places during the invasion.
