So I got in an argument a few days ago with my brother and a friend about wether or not there are people from ancient times who have defeated gods.
Now, my question is basically exactly as the title states. Does reddit know about ancient heroes/people who have fought and defeated gods?
I am not aware of any historical or physical evidence for the existence of actual gods, so it probably isn't really a subject for this subreddit.
There are plenty of myths about hero/god interactions so if there were particular myths or folk stories that you wanted to ask about you could try /r/mythology.
If you want to ask about why various cultures have stories about heroes and gods then /r/AskAnthropology might be able to help. They could tell you if that was a question they could help with.
If you want to talk about gods in general then /r/religion is a possibility but I think that they are more interested in talking about the issues and problems of today's religions rather than gods of the past, which is what you seem to be interested in.
Do you have a Religious Education teacher at school that you can talk to? (I'm not sure which country you come from)
