There are 275 soldiers who were Holocaust survivors and have fallen in the 1948 war. Some of them were the only remnant of their respective families who have perished in the Holocaust. These are specifically remembered as "Netzer Acharon" (Last Spark, or something to that matter).

If 275 have fallen, it is very safe to assume that many more have fought and survived.
