What is the leading theory for these "Alien Rock Paintings"

This looks like a bit of a conspiracy theory. The figures are clearly humanoid in all the pictures, except for the "UFO", which could be any number of other things (which I won't speculate on since I know nothing about the culture of origin).

Also, I can't find too much information on these other than from "fringe" sites like abovetopsecret. If anybody has other links, they would be welcome.

If you compare them to other rock art, like the Petroglyph National Monument in the US, you will quickly find some figures that look less human than the ones you linked, and as far as I know nobody considers those proof of alien contact. The fact is that humans have a long tradition of creating art, and not only strict representative art but symbolic as well. If you do a Google search, you'll easily find figures that are significantly less humanoid than these. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and I really don't see any evidence other than local folklore mentioned in the article.

The Venus of Willendorf is a highly stylized paleolithic humanoid figure, but nobody claims that it represents an alien with a space helmet.

The cave paintings in Altamira in Spain feature stylized animals, but nobody claims that they represent alien buffalo.

It seems much more likely that paleolithic and neolithic artists were simply not interested in exact representation of humans and animals.

Mindboggling that the Times of India allows such a wild speculator to call himself an archeologist.

There is no way to know for sure what such a simple painting actually meant exactly. But that does not mean that any interpretation is as likely as the next, and it definitely doesn't mean that wild interpretations can be given as obvious conclusions. There is no need for any "leading theory" as to what these images actually represent to discredit the idea of it representing aliens, for which there is no evidence. It's indeed simply a representation of people, in the way that the artist chose to do.
