What role did Francoist Spain play in the Holocaust?

Well Spain was a neutral country but also held close ties with Nazi Germany meaning that they to an extent listened to what Hitler told them. even with that they allowed around 30,000 Jewish refuges to enter their border, most on transit to Portugal. between 1942 and 1944 however their records say they only let less then 7,500 although there were probably more given access with less conventional ways. There has been new evidence that in 1941, when Spain and Germany were discussing creating an alliance that Franco gave the Nazis a list of 6,000 Spanish Jew that if the alliance was created most likely would have been taken to concentration camps. but as Spain never joined the axis they were never taken.

Hope this helps.
