Is WWIII an actual threat right now?

Isn't there a 20 year or so window that historians don't talk about as the repercussions of the events haven't properly unfolded?

I don't think this question is best answered in this subreddit. Try /r/Askreddit and read the most upvoted/gilded comment.

This submission has been removed because it involves current events. To keep from discussion of politics, we have a 20-year rule here. You may want to try /r/ask_politics or another current-events focused sub.

I don't think this really falls under a ask historian question because your not talking about facts that have already happened but instead asking about speculation about what will happen in the future which you cant really do while following the rules of this sub reddit.

But my answer would be vary doubtful and as to the draft even less likely. The primary reason for this is still the threat of nuclear weapons in any full scale conflict.
