Which came first: Soviet or US counterpart?

During the cold war, multiple aircraft of comparable roles (interceptors, bombers, etc.). I know in the us that there are posters saying that the US did it first and the Soviets copied. Perfect example would be the B52 and Tu 95.

My question is how many of these counterparts were there (both US and Soviet) and who made the first of each (sources help)

I think that the B52/Tu95 is actually a pretty bad example. For starters, the Tu95 uses an extremely advanced counter-rotating propeller, whereas the B52 is a jet bomber. The Tu95 carries a slightly larger payload, and has more range, but the B52 is faster. And the B52 doesnt even look like the Tu95.

What I think youre talking about is the similarity between the B-29 and the Tu-4. This is one of the very few examples of the Soviet Union directly copying an American weapon.

The thing is, Russia is in a very different geostrategic location. Further, the Russian and German way of war are radically different. They produced radically different weapons which fit different needs, and filled different roles. As such there was very little direct copying, because American weapons wouldnt really work in the Red Army.
