In light of events in Ukraine, does the fall of the Berlin Wall really signify the end of the Cold War?

Greeting everyone. The collapse of the Berlin Wall was in 1989, which is just 5 years short of running afoul of this sub's 20-year rule. Kindly be mindful of the rule when making any replies.

OP, this question might be more appropriate in another sub that welcomes discussion of current events (or at least, events more current that 1994!). Perhaps /r/AskSocialScience or /r/Politics?

This submission has been removed because it involves current events. To keep from discussion of politics, we have a 20-year rule here. You may want to try /r/ask_politics or another current-events focused sub.
