Earlier this week I saw a post in /r/ShowerThoughts that was something along the lines of: "A hundred years ago owning a horse was commonplace but owning a car was uncommon; today the opposite is true."
So since the invention of the car have horses begun to die as a species? And were horses used more in America after colonization or during medieval times?
Well, as to your second question, there were no horses in the Americas before colonization, so they were definitely used more in colonial times and afterwards.
