How was the American Revolution viewed in Catherine the Great's Russia and what was the reaction to it?

Not particularly insightful, but John Quincy Adams (eventual US president who had traveled to France on a diplomatic mission with his father John Adams) was dispatched from Europe (I think Holland but possibly Paris), on a diplomatic mission while the War was still on.

This means that Russia was at least willing to talk to Continental representatives. It's also worth mentioning that this was most definitely after France had declared against Britain.
