Was motion sickness more common when motorized travel was first introduced?

I would imagine when the sensation of fast motion was new to people, many would react negatively to the unfamiliar turbulence.

Seafaring vessels would have introduced people to motion sickness long before machinery, as well as horse-pulled vehicles.
