Forgive me if this is the wrong sub for this question, but why is the Leaning Tower of Pisa considered so impressive?

The fact that it's all standing after all this time is pretty impressive. Few buildings from that era are still so intact, much less such large freestanding towers.

The fact that it has survived while leaning at a slant is even more impressive. It speaks to how well the building was designed, built, and maintained.
