Watched a documentary that basically said Napoleon attacked Spain, an ally at the time, completely unprovoked.
Is there any truth to this? The documentary focused much more on the fighting going on in Russia/Austria/Central Europe, so I figured they were just glossing over the Peninsular War.
Hi there! There's a pretty much identical thread posted a year ago: Why did Napoleon invade Spain, despite Spain being a faithful ally throughout the first couple coalitions?
