I was thinking the other day about how hard is must be for a small population to grow exponentially without at first many instances of inbreeding. My question is were arranged marriages used as an apparatus for early human communities to avoid inbreeding? If not can anyone share some insight on the origins of arranged marriages(E.I what type of cultures and religions facilitated the practice)
