Were there many 'noble jews'? How were they treated?

I know that in WW2 there were a couple (maybe even less than that?) jewish people that were deemed noble jews, one of them being Hitler's family doctor.

How were those deemed noble treated? Would they be seen as part of the master race, even though they were of a different religion?

Hitler's doctor wasn't treated so great, you know. He was still forced to emigrate with just sixteen marks on him. I've written about him here. As far as I know, "Edeljude" (noble Jew) wasn't an official category, it was just what Hitler called his family's doctor in a moment of nostalgia.
