A perfectly fine question that might have benefited from slightly better wording, but that is aside the point. I for one find many legitimate questions like this get quickly buried by a bit of down voting, and then never really see the light of day.
Asking what sort of repeating arms the British fielded in 1883 (basically none outside of revolvers and gatlingesque field pieces) and their accuracy is perfectly legit, and should not have been downvoted. /Rant

This is a heavily moderated sub where only well-researched and informative answers are allowed through. As such, expecting people to post thought over, well-worded questions is only reasonable, proportionate, and fair.

If the questioner was a little more polite and provided some context for the question I doubt it would have been downvoted so much.
I agree that just because a question is poorly worded it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad question. Unfortunately people tend not to think that way. Questions that are well thought out, and well written tend to get more attention than questions that are poorly worded or appear to have little thought put into them. It's the same way with answers as well.
Another possibility, is that there simply might not have been a lot of interest in this particular question. Given your name, flair and the very essence of this post, I think it's self evident that you found this question interesting. Whereas, I can say for myself, that I couldn't care less what the British fielded in 1883.
